Alpha Society 2025

Alpha Society is one of Hiram's highest academic honors. Membership is limited to students who have completed 12 or more hours of graded coursework at Hiram College and whose cumulative grade point average is 3.75 or better.

Phi Beta Kappa 2025 awards

Phi Beta Kappa, the national honorary society for excellence in the liberal arts, was founded in 1776 at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. There is no higher honor in American academia than membership in Phi Beta Kappa. A Phi Beta Kappa Chapter is a singular honor for a college or university. Since the founding of Phi Beta Kappa, only 280 colleges and universities have earned the right to have chapters on their campuses.

J.J. Turner Honor Society Inductions

Hiram College recently inducted the 2025 class of J.J. Turner Society scholars. The J.J. Turner Society is named in honor of James Jesse Turner, professor of Biology, 1904-1950, who was a thorough biologist and a versatile teacher. Professor Turner helped establish the national reputation of Hiram College for excellence in the sciences. Membership in the J.J. Turner Society is granted to all graduates of Hiram College who majored or minored in biology or who have gone on to advanced study and/or careers in the biological sciences and medicine. Additionally, membership is granted to all senior biology, biochemistry, biomedical humanities, and neuroscience majors and minors.

Hiram College Lambda Pi Eta Chapter Inducts New Members

Hiram College's Zeta Lambda chapter of the National Communication Honor Society's Lambda Pi Eta organization recently inducted two new member in fall 2023. To become a member of the organization, students must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in 60 semester hours, a 3.25 GPA in 12 semester hours of communication courses and be in the top 35% of their graduating class.

As the National Communication Association's official honor society, Lambda Pi Eta recognizes outstanding undergraduate students in the field of communication. The Zeta Lambda Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta at Hiram College was established with the intention of fostering community and scholarship within the communication department at Hiram College.

Hiram College inducts new members into Lambda Pi Eta

Lambda Pi Eta, a national honor society for outstanding communication scholars, welcomed six new students to the Zeta Lambda chapter at Hiram College this spring. To be a member of the honorary community, one must complete 60 semester hours of undergraduate coursework (12 of which must be in communication courses), have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (with a 3.25 in communication), be in the upper 35% of their graduating class, and be currently enrolled as a full-time student of Hiram College.
