Recently, Hiram College graduating seniors were inducted into the James Jesse Turner Society. The J.J. Turner Society is named in honor of James Jesse Turner, professor of Biology, 1904-1950, who was a thorough biologist and a versatile teacher. Professor Turner helped establish the national reputation of Hiram College for excellence in the sciences. Membership in the J.J. Turner Society is granted to all graduates of Hiram College who majored or minored in biology or who have gone on to advanced study and/or careers in the biological sciences and medicine. Additionally, membership is granted to all senior biology, biochemistry, biomedical humanities, and neuroscience majors and minors.

Five Hiram students placed in the Echo Student Literary Competition. Each year, students currently enrolled at Bethany College, Heidelberg University, Hiram College Marietta College, University of Mount Union, and Muskingum University are encouraged to participate and be judged in three categories: poetry, short fiction, and creative nonfiction.

Hiram College hosted an Evening of Hiram Writers where talented student writers read their fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. Selected winners from the Barbara Thompson Award for Short Fiction, Lindsay-Crane Contest in Creative Nonfiction, and the Vachel Lindsay Poetry Contest shared excerpts from their awarded work.

Hiram students were challenged during the annual ideabuild! competition, hosted by the Burton D. Morgan Center for Integrated Entrepreneurship at Hiram College.

Recently, eight students were selected as Hiram student ambassadors by The Office of Development and Alumni Relations and were honored at annual pinning ceremony.

Hiram College hosted its annual Nursing Uniform Convocation to honor sophomore Bachelor of Science in nursing students as they begin their clinical rotations. The celebration acknowledges each student's commitment to serving others through their career in professional nursing. Students received their uniforms, a nursing pin, and shared their pledges of commitment to the practice.

The Lindsay-Crane Center for Writing & Literature has declared its Fall 2022 Creative Nonfiction Contest winners! Hiram's creative nonfiction contest has been offered for over 20 years. Creative nonfiction is "Factual and literary writing that has the narrative, dramatic, meditative, and lyrical elements of novels, plays, poetry, and memoirs," as defined by the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP).

Eight Hiram College photography students presented their work in the 2022 Cleveland Photo Festival, which opened Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Bostwick Design Initiative galleries in Cleveland, OH.

Hiram College is pleased to announce the Dean's List for the Fall 2022 semester. Dean's List recognition is awarded each semester to students who, during the semester, complete 12 or more hours of graded coursework at Hiram College with a semester grade point average of 3.6

Each fall, Hiram's Burton D. Morgan Center for Integrated Entrepreneurship hosts ideablitz, an opportunity where students get to creatively pitch their ideas for a new business or service. This year, seven teams participated and marketed their idea to a panel of select judges consisting of business owners and entrepreneurs.

As the National Communication Association's official honor society, Lambda Pi Eta recognizes outstanding undergraduate students in the field of communication. The Zeta Lambda Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta at Hiram College was established with the intention of fostering community and scholarship within the communication department at Hiram College.

Recently seven integrative exercise students attended the Midwest Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine's (MWACSM) 49th annual meeting in Indianapolis with assistant professor of integrative exercise science, Dr. Mallory Kobak, and integrative exercise science program director, Dr. Michael Rebold. Along with listening to presentations, observing student research, and attending various networking events, the students were able to participate in the main event, the quiz bowl, which is a jeopardy-style competition. Three students, William Muirhead, Logan Bailey, and Regina Dubeansky were selected to represent the College and competed against 13 other schools including -Youngstown State University, Ohio University, University of Cincinnati, Bowling Green State University, to name a few.

Hiram College men's basketball senior Oliver Clingain was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, as announced by the NABC on Tuesday. "We are proud of Oliver for earning a place on the NABC honors court," Head Men's Basketball Coach Taylor Roth said. "In his time at Hiram, Oliver embodied the definition of student-athlete in all ways. We look forward to having several men's basketball players joining him on this list in the future."

Hiram College softball graduate catcher Giselle Bahena was selected as one of the North Coast Athletic Conference's (NCAC) two NCAA Woman of the Year nominees, as announced by the conference on Tuesday. "What a great honor to be nominated by the NCAC as a candidate for the NCAA Women of the Year," Director of Athletics Scott Pohlman said. "Honors like this come with a lot of hard work." Bahena is the first Terrier in school history to earn the conference's nomination for NCAA Woman of the Year honors.

June 30, 2022 - Five Hiram STUNT student-athletes: sophomores Julie Le-Quay, Abigail Ries and Ashley Rutkowski and freshmen Alli Hoffman and Kera Jones, were named to the 2022 College STUNT Coaches Association (CSCA) College STUNT Honor Roll, as announced by the CSCA on Thursday. "Congratulations to our five CSCA STUNT Honor Roll inductees! These student-athletes dominate both on the mat and in the classroom," Head Coach Brittany Powell said. "I am incredibly proud of their work ethic, time management skills and dedication. To maintain a cumulative GPA above a 3.5, especially during such difficult times, is a feat to be proud of. Congratulations ladies!"

Hiram College softball graduate catcher Giselle Bahena was named a First-Team College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American, as announced by CoSIDA on Tuesday.

June 1, 2022 - Hiram men's volleyball senior Kilvio Montero was named to the 2022 AMCC Winter All-Sportsmanship Team, as announced by the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) on Monday. Montero wrapped up a stellar, four-year career in 2022 with his second-consecutive First-Team All-AMCC selection, tallying 266 kills, 181 digs, 38 blocks, 37 aces and 10 assists in 28 matches played.

Hiram College softball graduate catcher Giselle Bahena was named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First-Team All-American as announced by the NFCA on Tuesday. Bahena earns NFCA First-Team All-America honors as an at-large catcher and is the first student-athlete in Hiram softball program history to earn First-Team All-America honors, and just the second in program history to earn an NFCA All-America selection.

Students accepted into the Eclectic Scholars Honor's program are curious, motivated, and involved students. The program is intended for students preparing for higher levels of study, including medical school, law school, business school, or another graduate school.

Seven students are inducted into Psi Chi, International Honor Society.

Students are presented with the Grace J. Chamberlain Prize in Creative Writing award.

Alpha Society is one of Hiram's highest academic honors. Membership is limited to students who have completed 12 or more hours of graded coursework at Hiram College and whose cumulative grade point average is 3.75 or better.

Hiram College is pleased to announce the Dean's List for the spring 2022 semester. Dean's List recognition is awarded each semester to students who, during the semester, complete 12 or more hours of graded coursework at Hiram College with a semester grade point average of 3.6 or better.

Students are recognized by Hiram's Chemistry Department as the Outstanding PChem Student.

Student is awarded the James H. Barrow Scholarship in Biology.
